Cleaning up a PDF in seconds
Scanned documents often come with blank backs of pages, duplicate scans or a fax cover sheet nobody needs. Exported reports may include an empty last page, and downloaded statements are padded with marketing inserts. Remove Pages deletes exactly the pages you list and keeps everything else in its original order.
Enter page numbers separated by commas, and use a hyphen for a span: 2, 5-7 removes page 2 and pages 5, 6 and 7. Page numbers refer to the position in the file, starting at 1, which isn't always the same as the number printed on the page. If you'd rather see the pages while you work, Organize PDF shows thumbnails you can delete visually.
The remaining pages are copied untouched, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. Removing pages is also a quick way to make a file smaller before uploading it. It all happens in your browser, so the document is never uploaded. Each run counts as one task: 3 a day on the free plan, more on paid plans.
A good habit before deleting is to open the PDF in your viewer, note the page numbers of everything you want gone, and enter them all at once. If you make a mistake, just run the tool again from your original file, which is never changed. For long scanned documents with many blank backs, this saves a lot of time compared with removing pages one at a time in a desktop editor.
Our take
We use Remove Pages to clean up before sending: blank backsides from a duplex scan, a cover sheet the recipient does not need, or internal notes at the end of a contract that should stay in-house.
We type ranges like 2, 5-7 and always check the page count of the result. Removing pages is also our favourite way to shrink a file without any quality loss, because unlike compression, the remaining pages are untouched and text stays selectable.
The pitfall: deleting a page does not remove information that appears elsewhere, such as bookmarks or a table of contents that still mentions it. For truly sensitive content, check the whole file. And if you want to keep only a few pages out of many, Extract Pages is quicker than listing everything to delete.
