Turn iPhone photos into a shareable PDF
iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC (or HEIF) by default. The format keeps quality high and files small, but many websites, Windows computers and upload forms don't accept it. Converting HEIC photos to PDF solves that: a PDF opens everywhere and bundles several pictures into one tidy file, which is ideal for receipts, scanned documents, ID copies, homework or a set of photos for an application.
Add as many HEIC or HEIF files as you need, then use the arrows to put them in the right order — each image becomes one page. The photos are decoded and converted locally in your browser, so personal pictures and documents are never uploaded to a server. That also makes it fast, since nothing has to travel over the network.
Tip: if you photographed a multi-page document, shoot the pages in order and they'll usually appear in that order when you add them. If the final PDF is too large to email, run it through Compress PDF afterwards. You can also convert JPG and PNG images with our other converters if your photos are in those formats.
Our take
We use HEIC to PDF when iPhone photos have to go to a system that only understands PDF: photographed receipts for a reimbursement, a picture of a signed form, or documents for an online application.
We select the photos in the order they should appear and convert them in one batch, so we get a single PDF instead of a folder of files. Cropping in the Photos app beforehand removes the table edges and keeps the file cleaner.
The pitfall: iPhone photos are large, and a PDF made from ten of them can exceed an upload limit. We compress right after with Compress PDF. If your iPhone already exports JPG, JPG to PDF does the same job, and for text you need to search, add OCR PDF at the end.
