PowerPoint to PDF Converter

A PDF looks the same on every device, which makes it the safest way to share a finished PowerPoint file, submit it to a portal or send it for printing. This converter accepts .ppt, .pptx and .odp files and turns them into a clean PDF in a few seconds, without installing Office or paying anything.

Converting office documents properly needs a full office engine, so this tool works differently from our in-browser tools. Your file is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our own server in Germany (EU), converted, sent back to you and deleted immediately. It is never stored, never shared and never used for anything else. Files can be up to 10 MB on the free plan and up to 50 MB on paid plans. The conversion uses LibreOffice, a mature open-source office suite, which handles the vast majority of documents very well.

Each slide becomes one PDF page. Animations and transitions can't exist in a PDF, so the final state of each slide is shown, and embedded videos appear as a still frame. If a font used in your document isn't embedded or available on the server, a similar font is substituted, so spacing can shift slightly; embedding fonts or using common fonts avoids this. If the resulting PDF is too big, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.

This converter is built for sharing the slides themselves, one slide per page. If you want a handout with your speaker notes printed under each slide, PowerPoint's own Notes Pages print-to-PDF on a desktop is the better route. Hidden slides deserve a quick look as well: if a slide was hidden for one audience and must never reach another, delete it from the copy you upload rather than relying on it staying hidden. The same goes for an appendix full of internal numbers.

Image-heavy decks are the usual reason a PowerPoint PDF is too big to email. Photos pasted straight from a camera are often 4000 pixels wide even when they only fill a corner of a slide. Using Compress Pictures in PowerPoint at around 150 ppi shrinks the source before you convert, and Compress PDF at the medium level afterwards is our default. Together those two steps usually get a long deck under the upload caps that conference and school portals set. On the free plan decks up to 10 MB can be converted. Using Keynote or Google Slides? Exporting a PDF straight from those apps is quicker than going through PPTX.
