Present a PDF as PowerPoint slides

Sometimes you need a PDF inside PowerPoint: a report to walk through in a meeting, a handout to combine with your own slides, or a document to present with PowerPoint's presenter tools. This converter creates a .pptx file in which each PDF page becomes one slide.

Every page is placed on its slide as a high-resolution image, so it looks exactly like the original, with the same fonts, colors and layout. The trade-off is honest to state: the text on the slides is part of the image and can't be edited in PowerPoint. You can still add your own text boxes, notes and animations on top, reorder slides or mix them into another deck. If you need to edit the text itself, convert the PDF to Word instead.

The conversion runs on our own server in Germany (EU). Your file is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection, converted, sent back to you and deleted immediately — never stored, never shared and never used for anything else. Files can be up to 50 MB. Because slides are images, a long PDF produces a fairly large .pptx.

Our take

We use PDF to PowerPoint when someone hands us a finished PDF and we need to present it: showing a report in a meeting, reusing a few pages as slides, or adding our own notes between them.

The file goes to our server in Germany and is deleted right after conversion. Be aware that each page becomes an image on a slide, so the text is not editable. We like it because pages look exactly like the original, which is what matters on a projector.

The pitfall: people expect editable text boxes and are disappointed. If you need to change the wording, PDF to Word is the better route. If you only need a few pages, extract them first with Extract Pages so the deck stays short.
