Terms of Service

The service

pdfdots offers free tools to edit, convert and organize PDF files. Most tools run in your browser; a few run on our server, as described in our Privacy Policy. Using the tools requires a free account, created by signing in with Google. There are no paid plans.

Your account

You need a pdfdots account to use the tools, and you sign in with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure and for all activity under your pdfdots account. You can delete your account at any time.

My files storage

Signed-in users can store files in My files, up to 1 GB per account. Stored files are encrypted at rest and kept until you delete them or your account. Storage is a convenience, not a backup service: keep your own copies of important files.

Your files and your responsibility

You must have the necessary rights to every file you process with pdfdots, and to every web page you convert. You remain responsible for your content. We claim no rights to your files.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service to process or distribute illegal content;
• attack, disrupt or overload the service, including automated or bulk requests;
• abuse the HTML/URL to PDF tool, for example to probe other systems or fetch content you have no right to access;
• try to bypass rate limits or other protective measures.

Limiting or stopping access

We may limit, suspend or block access to the service, in whole or for particular accounts, users or IP addresses, if we detect abuse or a threat to the security or availability of the service.

No warranties

The service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.

Conversion and OCR results may contain errors, such as missing formatting or misrecognized text. Always check the output before relying on it, and keep a copy of your original files.

Electronic signatures

The Sign PDF tool creates a simple electronic signature by placing your drawn, typed or uploaded signature on the page. It is not a qualified electronic signature and may not meet legal requirements for documents that demand one. Check what your situation requires.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage arising from the use of or inability to use the service, including data loss or incorrect results. This limitation does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or where mandatory law provides otherwise.

Changes, applicable rights and contact

We may change or discontinue the service or these terms at any time. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection law of your country.
